Night falls and I close my eyes.
Images and dreams flood in,
the story of us projected against
my eyelids.
The life that might be, told
in that story.
Where are we?
This is the crux that scars
my thoughts. The unknowing
apprehension, uncertainty
weighing in my sighs;
Feather-light in the morning
as I awake and listen to you
breathe.
The room is hot and I gaze upon your
peaceful form, this time
sighing lightly; a sleepy daydream
of breathing you in, as you rest
in my arms.
